All-New Sixth-Gen Hyundai Verna Launched In India

Hyundai has launched the sixth-gen Verna sedan in the Indian market at a starting price of INR 10.90 Lakh. The new Verna will be available in four trims across two engine options and three gearbox options.The new Verna follows Hyundai's latest parametric design language with sharp creases and prominent cuts inspired by the new Elantra. The sedan gets a full LED light bar between the bonnet and bumper to lend a premium and luxurious appeal. Around the sides, it gets long sweeping lines and larger dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear too gets a full-width lightbar integrated into the tail-lamp design.Inside, the cabin gets dual-tone beige-black interiors and soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door trims. On the features front, it features a  large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, which offers Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, 8-speaker Bose sound system, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, front ventilated and heated seats (Segment-first) and Level-2 ADAS technology. Hyundai is also offering new three years of free Bluelink subscription for the new Verna owners.In terms of dimensions, the new-gen Verna is 4,535mm long, 1,765mm wide (best-in-class) and 1,475mm in height. The wheelbase at 2,670mm is class-leading along with the 528-litre bootspace.

The new Hyundai Verna will be offered in two petrol engine choices - 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. The former develops 115 PS and 140 Nm, and it is available with either a 6-speed MT or a CVT. On the other hand, the new turbo-petrol unit develops 160 PS and 253 Nm, and it will be offered with either a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DCT.

Among the safety features, the 2023 Verna comes with a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with 'autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, lane exit warning, among others'. In addition, it also gets 6-Airbags, all four disc brakes (only on the DCT variant), and ABS with EBD as standard for all variants.
